How it works – in this case, we use 4G LTE Cat 1 connectivity model ATC700 to demonstrate the solution in detail. It needs to be attached to or placed inside each parcel. Periodic location data reports ensure that logistics managers have continuous visibility of shipments. This feature works by sending location updates at pre-defined intervals, allowing company managers to monitor parcel delivery without excessive data usage or power consumption.

People in charge can also opt for movement-based tracking only, which ensures accurate monitoring of parcels whether they are moving or remain stationary. In the On-stop scenario, the GPS tracker detects when the parcel stops moving and generates a record after a pre-defined period. It then obtains a location fix and updates the coordinates. In the On-move scenario mode, Teltonika ATC700 determines when the parcel starts moving and triggers an event.

The multi-action button enhances functionality by allowing users to perform specific actions before placing the tracker in the parcel box or attaching it to one. By simply pressing the button, they can initiate tracking, send alerts, switch device modes, or trigger pre-defined actions. Yet more, the device has an IP68-rated casing that provides protection from water and dust, making it a perfect choice for outdoor use or operation in harsh environments.

Another key benefit of this solution is that all ATx70 range of trackers includes a rechargeable battery, which allows the devices to operate for extended periods. For longer distances or international deliveries, the power bank support ensures uninterrupted operation, eliminating downtime due to internal battery depletion. All the relevant data collected by ATC700 is transmitted via mobile networks to a dedicated server and tracking platform, where logistics operators and managers can monitor the location, movement history, and status of parcels.
