NEW EYE SENSOR EN12830 FOR CERTIFIED TEMPERATURE MONITORING

25 April 2024

Teltonika's latest tracking device in the telematics niche - EYE Sensor EN12830 - offers unparalleled accuracy in temperature monitoring, ensuring compliance with the demanding European EN12830 standard for certified transport and storage of temperature-sensitive goods.

The EN12830 certification confirms the sensor's ability to provide accurate temperature measurements throughout the cold chain when transporting and storing perishable products. Goods such as dairy, meat, beverages, vegetables, fruit, flowers, and pharmaceuticals can now be stored and delivered in a compliant and efficient manner.

IMPRESSIVE RANGE OF ADDITIONAL BENEFITS

The EN12830 version of Teltonika EYE Sensor model offers significant additional benefits, including:

  • EN12830 certificate as an endorsement.

  • Certified 0.5°C accuracy class across all working ranges (-20 to +60°C).

  • Temperature sensor that is calibrated in an ISO 17025-certified laboratory.

  • Internal memory for storage of temperature readings for up to 345 days.

  • Food-grade casing, compliant with EU and FDA regulations for food contact applications.

HOW IT WORKS

The EN12830-certified solution consists of:

  • EYE Sensor EN12830.

  • EYE APP (the evaluation version for EN12830) which is available for Android users as an .APK file on Telematics Wiki.

With EYE APP, you can easily enable temperature recording to the internal memory and choose the preferred recording interval: 1, 5, or 15 minutes. Afterwards, you may download the recorded temperature data in .CSV file format. This includes the exact temperature, date, and time of the measurement.

HOW IT WORKS WITH FLEET MANAGEMENT (FM) TRACKERS

You can use EYE Sensor EN12830 to acquire current temperature data via FM trackers. Please note that downloading historical temperature data is not currently supported.

CALIBRATION IN ISO 17025-CERTIFIED LABORATORY

Each device is supplied with a temperature sensor calibrated in an ISO 17025-certified laboratory, ensuring that the sensors meet international standards for accuracy and reliability. The calibration is carried out at three different points of temperature.

This certification indicates that calibration procedures are scientifically rigorous, providing confidence in measurement results essential for critical applications, such as quality control, safety and regulatory compliance, thereby increasing confidence in the performance of EYE Sensors EN12830.

INTERNAL MEMORY WITH ZERO MISSED RECORDS

EYE Sensor EN12830 can store up to 33,000 temperature logs in its internal memory, ensuring that no measurement is missed. This means that data can be retained for up to 345 days if the temperature is recorded every 15 minutes. Please note that temperature recording must be enabled via the EYE APP.

WHAT IS THE VALUE TO THE END CUSTOMER?

EYE Sensor EN12830 benefits a wide range of customers, virtually anyone who works with temperature-sensitive goods. It offers several advantages, such as:

  • Allows all goods to be stored in optimum conditions to prevent spoilage.

  • Helps to identify quickly temperature deviations and take necessary actions to protect temperature-sensitive production.

  • Ensures compliance with food safety standards, making audits easier and reducing the risk of penalties for non-compliance.

  • Minimises the risk of fines or rejected shipments.

  • Improves product quality and extends shelf life.
