  • Telematics For Agriculture And Farming

Comprehensive and affordable agricultural machinery tracking solution using GPS tracker FMB140 and Bluetooth® connectivity TELEMATICS FOR THE AGRICULTURE AND FARMING INDUSTRY INTRO To meet the growing demand for agricultural produce and the many challenges facing the industry, today's farmers need to be more innovative, efficient and competitive, while conserving resources. As a result, comprehensive, affordable and customisable solutions for tracking agricultural machinery, combined with process monitoring and automation, are becoming not just an attractive option, but a necessity. CHALLENGE The world's population continues to grow by around 83 million people every year. To get an idea of the scale of this process, consider that it has grown from 1 billion in 1800 to 7.8 billion in 2020, so agriculture is essential to our existence and must find a way to perform at its best with the least waste of time and effort. There are many issues affecting agriculture - weather and climate change, economic, environmental and political factors, supply and demand concerns. One of the biggest challenges in large-scale farming - agricultural machinery, such as tillage, planting, harvesting/post-harvesting, and any industry-specific equipment or accessories attached for a specific purpose - is the efficient automation of management and tracking. Traditional paper records and/or printed maps used for many years are neither practical nor in line with today's farming requirements and practices. Furthermore, if farmers have a bad year because of agriculture issues that led to a poor harvest and significant financial losses, it affects many people in the country or region and that effect may even last for years to come. Did you know, according to the State of Food and Agriculture (SOFA) report , food loss and waste reached over 15% in North America and Europe, and over 20% in Central and South Asia in 2019? So, how can modern farm owners solve this challenge of efficient machinery tracking and management once and for all, with minimum effort and maximum results? SOLUTION Thanks to the fast-developing IoT technologies, agriculture-specific equipment, farming implements, and/or accessories tracking and management can be successfully achieved by combining GPS devices, CAN bus data adaptors, and Bluetooth® Low Energy 4.X (BLE) ID beacons . The preferred choice for this matter is the vehicle GPS tracker Teltonika FMB140 with a built-in CAN data reading feature and advanced software version supporting agriculture-type vehicles (aka ALL-CAN300 option). ID beacons are small radio transmitters that broadcast their unique identifier signal utilising wireless Bluetooth® connectivity which has proven to have low cost, high energy efficiency, accuracy, and low interference. Beacons are easy to install, deploy, and integrate into the existing ecosystem and are swiftly replaceable if broken or stolen. They can be configured to exact customer needs, signal strength and data transmitting intervals can be easily integrated into virtually any size and form environment. Here to say, Teltonika GPS trackers support up to 100 beacons at a time and each of them will continuously work, depending on the model, for around 4 to 10 years on a single battery transmitting a signal up to 500 m range. Here is how it works - Bluetooth® LE ID beacons had to be attached to various non-motorised farming implements, agricultural machinery, attachments, and accessories to be monitored and accounted for. Thanks to the wireless communication principle, the installation process is effortless, fast, and low-cost. At the same time, Teltonika FMB140 trackers should be mounted on agricultural vehicles, such as tractors, harvesters, loaders, round balers, farm utility and all-terrain vehicles, etc. Each ID beacon transmits a unique signal and GPS devices read and identify them all. The FMB140 then sends this data, along with its GNSS location details, to a server for analysis. Dedicated software determines the location of all beacons (i.e., tagged agricultural assets) based on their proximity to the nearest Teltonika tracker mounted on an agricultural vehicle. Conveniently, there is no need to log in, authenticate or take any other action - all tracking and recording are done automatically in real time and are available to farmers 24/7/365 from any modern device with internet access. As a result, they know exactly what works were done in what fields and can plan their further actions accordingly which makes it a comprehensive and indispensable choice. No more the old-fashioned ‘pen and paper’ methods whatsoever which are known to be inconvenient, impractical, and error-prone. To bring even more value and benefits to farming businesses, Bluetooth® ID beacon usage can be successfully extended to many indoor tracking solutions in warehouses, farming houses, barns, mills, dairy buildings, etc. FMB140 model, like any Teltonika GPS tracking device, offers multiple additional functions that are just as useful as live tracking such as Green Driving, Jamming detection, Excessive Idling detection, Immobilizer, Unplug detection, Towing detection, Crash detection, Auto/Manual Geofence, Trip, trackers configuration and firmware remote update via FOTA WEB tool . For instance, geofences are virtual boundaries a farmer can draw on a digital map in a relevant software application that is used in location-aware events and various alarms. This handy feature can be used for setting up events and receiving notifications when an agricultural vehicle or attachment enters or leaves a predetermined area. Even greater, it allows drawing zones around farming fields, warehouses, various sites of importance, secure areas, etc. Keep in mind, ID beacons allow tracking and simplify drivers’ authentication solutions too. If the authentication fails, a vehicle ignition starter will remain disconnected to prevent undesirable actions. Altogether, this ensures automated hassle-free fleet drivers’ time, location, action tracking, monitoring, and management. Wireless external fuel/liquid level sensors (aka FLS or LLS) can be utilised to measure current fuel volume and its changes in a fuel tank. They are used as a part of a vehicle telematics system and provide accurate data measuring remaining liquid, fuel tank fill-up, and draining volumes. Also, it helps a farming fleet to stay accountable, economical, and prevent fuel thefts from motorised farming machinery tanks. Wireless communication eliminates the risk of cable vandalism and significantly simplifies the installation process. Thanks to Jamming detection, Immobilizer, Unplug detection, Towing detection feature combo, drivers' and agricultural vehicles safely will be substantially increased. Even more, farmers can implement automated drivers’ identification and working hours measuring solution utilising 1-Wire technology, GPS trackers mounted on vehicles and relevant accessories for this matter. Built-in CAN bus data adaptor reads over 100 parameters to ensure timely fleet maintenance schedules and service; highly efficient, comprehensive, and automated management helps to save fuel, and time, avoid downtime, farm running costs increase, and overheads. All this contributes to the ultimate goal that every farmer looks for – the growth of productivity and output with a minimum effort. TOPOLOGY BENEFITS Smart farming and outstanding efficiency - 100% accountability for everything that matters to the farm business: equipment, valuable assets, processes and patterns are tracked, monitored and optimised. Maximum results with minimum effort and no more messy paper notes or printed maps. Low-cost Bluetooth® ID beacons set up – adding wireless identification functionality to agricultural machinery is a simple and quick process for current users of our telematics solutions. If broken or stolen, they can be quickly replaced. Customisable solutions for every business need - to get the most out of them, ID beacons can be configured with signal strength and data transmission intervals to suit your exact needs and can be used in any shape or size of farm field or site. Efficient fleet maintenance, safety, and timely service – fleet owners can be confident that their agricultural vehicles are kept in perfect condition, safe and fully operational. Tracking vehicle maintenance schedules becomes a hassle-free, automated process, saving valuable time and resources. Extensive Teltonika GPS tracker FMB140 functionality to serve farming needs - integrated CAN bus data reading, flexible configuration, multiple-use scenarios and a wealth of benefits to optimise fleet management, reduce running costs, and improve ROI. SUCCESS STORY Companies operating in the agricultural sector in Benin faced several challenges due to the lack of proper tracking of farming equipment and land use. This made it difficult to monitor daily task progress and allocate resources effectively. Farmers also did not have the data they needed to identify the best tools or improve efficiency, resulting in wasted resources and lower productivity. To address these issues, the telematics and IoT solutions integrator offered local farmers a solution using Teltonika FMB920 vehicle GPS trackers for tractors and EYE Beacons for monitoring farm equipment, such as harrows and ploughs. Once implemented, farmers receive real-time data on equipment usage, cultivation, and tractor fleet performance. This has significantly improved resource planning and increased productivity, allowing business owners to address issues more quickly and choose the most suitable tools for the job. As a result, farming in Benin is now more productive and cost-efficient. WHY TELTONIKA? • Improving Device Configuration Process With TCT Web Version

The new TCT web version allows users to reduce operational costs and increase efficiency while managing FT tracker configuration files IMPROVING DEVICE CONFIGURATION PROCESS WITH TCT WEB VERSION INTRO According to a report by Fortune Business Insights , the vehicle telematics market was valued at $79.17 billion in 2023 and is estimated to reach $170.35 billion by 2032. With over 25 years of experience in the telematics business, we know that successful clients tend to cover a few industries. They are addressing multiple challenges that are increasing the need to mitigate risk, improve operational efficiency, and overall productivity. CHALLENGE With the growing demand for vehicle trackers in the IoT industry, companies are faced with increasing time and costs associated with configuring and updating these devices. As businesses expand, the need to configure more devices requires the hiring of additional technical and support staff to manage these tasks. Having multiple platforms for device management, while necessary, is not the best choice. Staff often spend a lot of time navigating between these different systems, leading to inefficiencies and wasted resources. Fleet management service providers may have many projects and companies to manage at the same time, making it difficult to keep track of all the configuration files. Especially when they are not all the same and have specific configurations for a particular customer. Files can no longer be managed completely manually as the risk of sending the wrong configuration settings to customers' GPS trackers is pretty high. Even more, when training staff, it is usually not easy to pass on knowledge of the tracking device configuration. Every new employee in the company needs to fully understand how to use the file configuration system. Training takes time and requires multiple resources. Finally, each company has its own policies and procedures. They also have different hardware and software that employees use to perform their daily tasks. For companies with different operating systems (MS Windows, Linux, or MAC OS), it is complicated to manage the same software that is not fully adapted to work on all operating systems. Especially when the solution is delivered in a desktop version that is not available for all systems. This makes it difficult to manage resources and takes time to adapt to new tools, but Teltonika has a practical solution to offer. SOLUTION To optimise fleet device management, Teltonika offers its customers comprehensive platforms designed to facilitate both the initial setup and ongoing maintenance of GPS trackers . To minimise the need for individual configuration of devices, Teltonika offers TCT (short for Telematics Configuration Tool) platform, which allows our clients to create configuration files that can be remotely uploaded to multiple FT trackers , saving significant time and effort. TCT is available in two versions - an MS Windows application and a web-based solution. We offer our customers FOTA WEB platform for the remote update and maintenance of Teltonika GPS devices. This software solution allows customers to effortlessly update device firmware and configuration settings, ensuring that all trackers remain up-to-date and fully operational. Beyond updates, FOTA WEB also supports efficient management of companies and end users, as well as provides robust debugging tools to quickly resolve issues that may arise. The integration between FOTA WEB and TCT web version helps to increase the efficiency of the service provider's operations. Easily accessible through FOTA WEB on any operating system, TCT web version allows you to create a configuration from scratch or edit existing ones. Let's take FTC921 tracker as an example to show an operating principle. How it works - when Teltonika customer receives FTC921, it is already registered in FOTA WEB account. The first step is to log into FOTA WEB account and click TCT icon. If the user chooses to create a configuration, TCT will automatically open in a separate web window. The customer is then presented with a list of FT trackers to choose from and must select FTC921 model to configure it. All required device configurations can be easily created on the web platform and saved to FOTA WEB for further sending over the air to these devices. This streamlined process eliminates the need to navigate through multiple platforms, saving valuable employee time and effort. If a configuration update is required, TCT web version allows existing configurations available in FOTA WEB to be edited and modified parameters to be saved as separate files, reducing the amount of traffic required for further file transfer to the FT platform devices. Even if the original vehicle tracker configuration is not available, FOTA WEB can request it from the device, edit it in TCT web version, and send the changes back. The ability to save the configuration file directly to FOTA WEB account not only reduces the processing time but also eliminates the need to store the files elsewhere and minimises human error by sending incorrect configuration files to devices. TCT solution itself is not only easy to navigate but also has a setup guide that walks you through the most important settings and gives the user tooltips explaining what certain parameters are for. This feature allows the company to reduce training time and ensures that the employee can find answers to questions about the system. In addition, the current availability of TCT on the web means that the solution can be used on different operating systems, ensuring that customers do not have to change their internal processes and policies regarding the use of specific operating systems. TOPOLOGY BENEFITS Reduced operational costs - the solution has a pre-integrated setup guide that explains key settings and helps to navigate the tool. This is useful for first-time users. As TCT web version has tooltips and a user-friendly interface, these features eliminate the need for additional training for new staff. Minimising human errors - thanks to the ability to save configuration files to FOTA WEB account, this TCT solution helps to reduce the possibility of human error when sending incorrect configuration files to different Teltonika FT devices. Increased flexibility - by eliminating the need to use a specific operating system, the new solution is designed to run on any type of system and the device of your choice – PC, laptop, tablet, or smartphone with an internet connection. Maximum efficiency - for effective file management, TCT web version allows our customers to save created or edited configuration files directly to FOTA WEB without the need for additional steps to download and upload them. Considerable time savings - the new solution reduces the need to navigate between different desktop and software applications to configure and update files. TCT web version can be accessed via FOTA WEB account with a single click. WHY TELTONIKA? TCT web version and FOTA WEB together provide an all-in-one solution for tracking device configuration, editing existing configuration, updates and maintenance. With this innovative platform, customers can manage their GPS trackers and projects more efficiently, ensuring that it is always up-to-date and functioning optimally. By integrating these essential tasks into a single, easy-to-use interface, Teltonika telematics unit continues to help its customers maximise operational productivity and achieve their business goals. • Timely Vehicle Maintenance With FMS Tell Tale Status

Receive live vehicle dashboard data via FMS Tell Tale with the new Teltonika FMC650 professional tracker TIMELY VEHICLE MAINTENANCE WITH FMS TELL TALE STATUS INTRO Fleet managers face many challenges in their day-to-day operations, and one of the most important is tracking and measuring budgets. As fuel, repair and other costs rise, logistics companies need to optimise spending wherever possible. One of the biggest expenses can be vehicle maintenance. Fortunately, resolving potential problems promptly can go a long way to saving resources. CHALLENGE As the average cost of vehicle maintenance parts and labour increases , it is important to address any concerns immediately. Drivers might put off vehicle issues and focus only on fast cargo delivery, resulting in small mechanical issues growing into major issues that can halt a vehicle for a considerable amount of time. For example, putting off oil changes might cause the engine to overheat and wear out its parts, which means expensive repairs. People responsible for the expenses are more likely to focus on long-term solutions and maintain fleets in the best condition, thus saving money in the future. With remote access to information displayed on the driver's dashboard, fleet managers will be able to monitor and organise repairs as quickly as possible. Secondly, analysing driver behaviour can significantly increase safety and reduce costs because of reckless conduct and poor practices. For instance, it is important for fleet management companies to know if their drivers are being responsible and report breakdowns or engine checks. This might allow drawing objective conclusions where certain company policies might need improvement. Even more, fleet management needs to consider the safety of their drivers. Monitoring vital safety measures such as seat belt status, light status or others can save lives and maintain a good company reputation. SOLUTION To address these challenges, we choose the brand-new PROFESSIONAL category vehicle GPS tracker Teltonika FMC650 . This GPS device is designed to meet the highest standards in vehicle telematics. The tracker stands out with its separate module to gather GNSS data and best-in-class positioning precision. This is possible with L1 and L5 band support. On its own L1 signal can provide accurate location data, however, in combination with L5 it gives you even better accuracy, as the L5 signal can pass better through buildings. It is important to note that FMC650 is the first mass-market tracker with dual-band support! Furthermore, this exceptionally accurate tracker has a new 4G LTE Cat 1 connectivity modem with a fallback to 2G, supporting more LTE frequency bands and, thus, providing even better connectivity in the EMEA, APAC, and LATAM regions. As the device has upgraded hardware, the resources load better. Moreover, the new model has 16 MB of internal Flash memory, allowing it to store up to 8 times more data records than the current PROFESSIONAL category line without using a MicroSD card . FMC650 has 2 CAN lines dedicated to heavy vehicle support – one line for connecting to the tachograph and another for connecting to the FMS interface of the truck. When paired to the FMS interface, the device can retrieve all vital truck data, such as fuel consumption, engine work hours, and other information from the truck dashboard via the Teltonika FMS Tell Tale feature. Therefore, all the dashboard events shown to the driver are also transferred to the server and visible to fleet managers. Teltonika FMS Tell Tale feature consists of 4 Tell Tale ID blocks that show the information of the indications, statuses, or vehicle information from the dashboard. Such parameters as high/low beam information, light indication, turn signals, break lights, seat belts, engine oil information, steering fluid level, retarder, transmission fluid information, brake failure, system malfunction and many others as described in standardised FMS protocol. By receiving this important information from the dashboard, fleet managers can avoid unnecessary costs, manage the budget more efficiently, monitor driver behaviour, and improve drivers’ safety were necessary. Finally, it is important to note that firmware updates and configuration changes can be made remotely using the FOTA WEB tool - an easy-to-use software solution that helps to manage Teltonika vehicle GPS trackers with the highest efficiency. TOPOLOGY BENEFITS Improved company profitability – by receiving data from the dashboard, fleet managers will be aware of any vehicle issues and plan the maintenance promptly, thus, saving company costs in the future. Boost workforce discipline and driver accountability – fleet managers can improve the company's overall work ethic by tracking and monitoring whether drivers report vehicle issues and obey traffic regulations. Improved driver safety and company reputation – with the monitoring of vital safety measures such as seat belt status, the driver's safety can be improved and fatal accidents can be avoided or minimised. Global connectivity support – the innovative FMC650 tracker 4G Cat 1 modem with fallback to 2G supports more LTE frequency bands for even better connectivity. WHY TELTONIKA? With the newly launched Teltonika FMC650, we offer solutions to the use cases with the highest requirements in the fleet management market . This highly sophisticated vehicle tracker allows retrieving dashboard data via FMS Tell Tale to avoid unwanted maintenance costs that can accumulate if drivers delay reporting issues. Teltonika Telematics is a business partner that is trusted for almost 25 years by customers and business partners all over the world. Our innovative approach to vehicle telematics challenges and years of know-how allows our clients to implement cost-efficient and comprehensive solutions in their businesses . LIKE THIS STORY? • Private/Business Driving Mode Functionality

Teltonika GPS tracker Private/Business Driving Mode functionality, usage scenarios and its benefits for corporate fleets PRIVATE/BUSINESS DRIVING MODE FUNCTIONALITY INTRO Allowing employees to drive company vehicles for personal reasons is a widespread practice. It is an attractive perk for employees, assisting business owners to hire skilled people and boost its competitiveness. But how to effectively monitor and manage this process, generate reports and avoid a car misuse trouble-free way? To assist businesses with this, Teltonika Telematics has developed a special GPS tracker mode. CHALLENGE It is a quite common practice in many small and medium-sized businesses in most of the countries around the world to allow owners and employees to drive company cars, trucks, or vans for personal reasons. For instance, to commute between home and work regularly; allow trips unrelated to organisation purpose, work, or trade (e.g. hospital, shopping centre, funeral); use a vehicle on a holiday or over weekends; even allow occasionally to be used by someone other than an employee of a company and so on. Use of a company car is often perceived as an attractive perk for employees, negating the need to own their vehicle and saving them a substantial amount of money or avoiding a need to take a car loan. Companies that want to attract, hire and keep the best and brightest staff members may offer incentives such as a company vehicle as an enticing part of a compensation package. And there is even more to consider - when an employee uses a company vehicle for personal use, it becomes taxable in some countries and must be reported to authorities. If so, it must be some convenient and reliable report generating option avoiding excessive paperwork, errors, controversies and accepted by the appropriate authorities. Also, how to effectively monitor and manage a ‘fair use’ personal use of company vehicles? How much is too much and how do you, as a corporate vehicle owner, know that for sure? To sum up, there are a few uses cases to this: Track employees during work hours only by enabling some sort of Private Mode after work/office hours. Track in specific zones and exclude employees tracking when entering specified geo zones (e.g. home/residential areas). Keeping all above in mind, here is a question - how the business owners and fleet managers allowing employees to drive company cars can monitor, supervise and, if necessary, restrain this process hassle-free way? To assist companies and organisations with this, here at Teltonika Telematics we have developed a pretty smart solution to this in its GPS trackers firmware - Private/Business Driving Mode . SOLUTION So, what is a tracker Private/Business Mode, the best practices for using it and how to get the maximum benefits for your business? Private/Business Driving Mode is Teltonika GPS tracker helpful feature which makes it possible for drivers and/or fleet management to temporarily mask vehicle GPS data tracking, so to say – to disable GPS coordinates with a click of the button. Corporate fleets can use this functionality to handily accommodate situations where employees (drivers) require intervals of privacy while using a company car. Moreover, self-employed people can easily convert their own car into a business asset. How it works - when the Business Driving Mode is activated, Teltonika GPS tracker electronic logbook keeps tracking and recording all pre-configured vehicle events automatically and sending data to a dedicated server. If the Private Driving Mode has been activated, odometer calculations (optional) and some other events will NOT be registered (aka GPS Data Masking). Also, this mode allows European businesses to comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulations . FMP100 device perfectly suits the Private Driving Mode. It is the one and only our device that has a button on it, so a driver can activate the feature in a few seconds. Additionally, the mode can be turned on in a few alternative ways (aka Triggers), such as GPRS/SMS command, Bluetooth® 4.X LE command, or Teltonika BTAPP mobile application. Upon a tracker set-up, there are three GPS Data Masking options: Normal - no changes are made to GPS data and GSM elements. All of them will be tracked according to a device configuration. Data sent as Zero - sends GPS data as ‘0’ to a server with the following I/O elements: latitude, longitude, altitude, number of satellites, ‘GSM Cell ID’ and ‘GSM Area Code’ parameters. If this option is chosen and Private Driving Mode is activated, a vehicle tracking mark will disappear off the map in automatic vehicle location software until the mode is switched back to Business Driving Mode. Last good known position - last known tracker GPS position right before entering Private Mode will be sent in each record to a server, ‘GSM Cell ID’ and ‘GSM Area Code’, I/O elements will be sent as ‘0’ to a server. In this case, a vehicle tracking mark will remain stationary, showing the last known location on the map until the mode is switched back to Business Driving Mode. To serve company needs even better, this mode has a handy Weekly Schedule Settings functionality allowing to pre-set and automate Private/Business status activation/deactivation routine and activate LED, which is also integrated into FMP100, to indicate a driver that the mode is up and running and some other handy settings. • Improving Drivers' Behaviour With ADAS Solution

Prevention of car crashes caused by bad driving behaviour using Teltonika ADAS with new visual monitoring functionality IMPROVING DRIVERS' BEHAVIOUR WITH ADAS SOLUTION INTRO Bad driving behaviour can have costly consequences. It is important to detect, assess and prevent such incidents to avoid damage to fleets, freight and people as a result of irresponsible driving. ADAS solution developed by Teltonika has been enhanced with a new visual monitoring feature - video and photo-on-demand - which significantly extends the benefits of the current solution. CHALLENGE Bad driving behaviour is defined as any driving practice that is inherently unsafe and includes speeding, distracted, careless or reckless driving. These actions may lead to forward collisions, lane departures without signalling and deliberate tailgating which are among common reasons for accidents. As a result, according to the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), about 51% of all fatal commercial motor vehicle accidents are caused by unexpected lane departures or failure to signal properly. In addition to that, around 20% of fatal truck or lorry crashes are caused by non-compliance with speed limits, which is costly for companies in the event of an accident. The average cost of a commercial fleet crash is $70,000 which can be a substantial expense for a company budget. It is essential to be able not only to detect and prevent car accidents but also to establish continuous improvement to avoid such circumstances in the future. Sadly, laws around the world that impose legal requirements on drivers to prevent driver misbehaviour are not yet 100% effective. For instance, there are around 15.5 million trucks in operation in the U.S. with almost 415,000 reported commercial crashes which clearly indicates the gap that is in the interest of the fleet owner to fill in. The adoption of additional tools and processes to complement legal requirements will benefit the company by reducing significant costs, time, and efficiency losses. With the right tools, the right challenge data and the right solutions, continuous improvement helps to boost company productivity and efficiency. Teltonika has therefore taken into account the needs and preferences of existing and potential customers to meet the need for a solution and has implemented a visual monitoring functionality in its Advanced Driver Assistance System , also known as ADAS. Now it combines all previously implemented ADAS features with video/photo-on-demand functionality to provide much-needed visual evidence . SOLUTION The solution consists of a windscreen-mounted ADAS and a PROFESSIONAL series vehicle GPS tracker FMC650 , connected via an RS232 serial port. The tracking device has an additional RS232/RS485 serial port and a 2X10 socket, allowing it to expand corporate fleet monitoring capabilities. Even more, the model can use multiple LLS sensors, an additional 3 analogue inputs, 4 digital outputs for a relay, starter and engine control, as well as CAN bus data reading. The combination of FMC650 and ADAS creates a solution that provides fleet management with the right tool for acquiring visuals from the events. The event is being mapped, therefore firstly requested photo may determine the relevance and necessity of the video material, saving time and money for unnecessary data usage. This solution allows accessing photo and video materials remotely based on the specific accident, location or time. The data from FMC650 and ADAS might be extracted with graphical evidence along with necessary information about cargo and vehicle state tight to it. For instance, requesting a photo in case of an unidentified geofence breach. The solution gives an opportunity to combine data, analyse the patterns across the fleet and implement changes that will increase company efficiency. Identification, prevention and implementation of continuous improvement might be some hefty tasks. However, ADAS range of functionalities creates a perfect tool to use for the correct solution. Improvement of actual, not theoretical problems within an organisation is important and more efficient. The fact is that data gathered from real-life and in-company situations is more useful than the use of general business-related videos and photo examples for training purposes . Brand new ADAS video and photo on-demand functionality can be also configured for periodical photo sending or video/photo transmission by a trigger. Various events of interest of bad driving and its exact location are identified, sent and stored in the server throughout the process of driving. The new ADAS visual monitoring functionality opens the possibility for a fleet manager to receive photos after the configured trigger and have the option to request a short video for up to 30 seconds for more visual data (20 seconds before the event, 10 seconds after the event). The visuals are mapped and stored for further analysis that can be used for the creation of a continuous improvement training package . ADAS systems prevent up to 40% of car accidents and up to 29% of fatal accidents. With the additional benefit of visual monitoring functionality, the implementation of continuous improvement is more efficient and personalised. Many researchers like Robin H. Kay, 2012 , Wen-Jung Hsin and John Cigas, 2013 , Brent R. Stockwell, 2015 have examined, evaluated and confirmed the positive effect of video materials as a source of learning. Therefore, an additional feature of ADAS solution helps to present the fleet manager with evidence of the event of interest that is further used for the evaluation, training and contribution towards training packages within the fleet management system. All in all, inappropriate driving behaviour can lead to costly consequences, which is why it is important to prevent it in the company fleet as much as possible. The brand-new ADAS functionality, which allows requesting a video or photo based on the events or time interval of interest, provides graphical evidence of such cases for evaluation, training and evidentiary purposes. For example, a photo will be sent immediately if there is a potential accident, or if it actually happens. So, if additional video evidence is needed, the fleet manager can also request it. Video material will not only be used as proof of the occurred event to the insurance company, but also for analysis by the company to prevent similar situations in the future. Analysing videos and photos can help you design training packages for continuous improvement, including motivational and bonus systems that increase company efficiency and help prevent future accidents. TOPOLOGY BENEFITS Prevention of bad drivers’ behaviour – the combination of FMC650 and ADAS allows precise location tracking, detailed vehicle statistics and graphical representation of the event to prevent future accidents. Graphical evidence of an event – short videos or photos of the events can be sent to a server for further evaluation, evidence, and archive. Car accidents may be reduced in the future – the use of graphical evidence helps to uncover unforeseen situations, reducing the likelihood of the same situations happening again. Pattern establishment – more efficient analysis of common fleet errors using video. Implementation of continuous improvement – accurately detected problems and correctly created solutions help to increase company efficiency, effectiveness, and profitability. Relevant materials for training purposes – higher effectiveness of training materials due to relevant use of materials. In-depth analysis of the event – a useful tool for an investigation of an event that occurred. It is important to understand and evaluate how specific situations happened and how to avoid them in the future. Flexible configuration to the project needs could bring added value to the company. Individually configured triggers or events of interest can be recorded for the specific needs of clients. SUCCESS STORY A fleet operator in Belgium avoided a serious accident thanks to an advanced video telematics solution built on Teltonika’s FMC650 tracker and ADAS camera. When a nearby vehicle began speeding and weaving dangerously between trucks, the fleet driver was forced to brake sharply. The solution instantly detected the harsh braking event, classified it as severe, and automatically requested a video recording. The footage clearly showed the reckless behaviour of the other driver and was later featured in national media, sparking public discussion around road safety. Developed by a long-term Teltonika partner, the system was built to operate entirely without manual input. Once an event was detected, the video was sent directly to the server, and a fleet manager received an email notification. This fully automated process ensures that critical incidents are documented and shared in real time. The ADAS camera played a vital role in capturing clear visual evidence, helping operators gain greater visibility into road events and protect their drivers against false liability. WHY TELTONIKA?
